PARENTING PLANS (PP)
At Burrell Family Law, we offer Parenting Plans (PP) as an alternative to consent orders, particularly beneficial when children are young and care arrangements are subject to frequent changes as they grow older. A Parenting Plan must be documented in writing, dated, and signed by both parents and any other relevant parties involved.
One advantage of a Parenting Plan is its flexibility. It can be modified at any time, but any changes must be formally signed and dated by all parties involved. To facilitate the creation of a Parenting Plan, a family dispute resolution service can provide assistance during sessions if both parents attend.
It’s important to note that while a Parenting Plan offers flexibility and facilitates co-parenting agreements, it is not legally enforceable. In contrast, consent orders, which are approved by the court, carry legal weight and can be enforced if necessary.
At Burrell Family Law, we understand that each family’s situation is unique, and we are committed to providing tailored advice and assistance to help you navigate your parenting arrangements. If you and your partner determine that a Parenting Plan is the best option for your circumstances, we can offer guidance and support throughout the drafting process.
